Start with frequency and output needs
Define the full operating frequency range and the output power needed at the intended load, including the signal type and operating conditions. Compare those requirements with the amplifier documentation; do not assume that a nominal frequency or power figure guarantees suitability across every condition. Check gain, linearity, spectral limits, and any stated operating or matching requirements against the application.
Account for heat and operating conditions
Amplifier power handling and heat removal are related, but they are not interchangeable ratings. Review the specified supply, bias, ambient conditions, duty cycle, mounting, and cooling guidance. Allow for heat to travel from the device into its mounting surface and onward to the environment. Where the documentation leaves thermal limits or operating details unclear, obtain confirmation before designing around them.
Check interfaces before integration
Confirm RF connector type and gender, impedance, allowable input drive, supply and control connections, grounding, and mechanical mounting. Plan the output path and load so that the amplifier is not exposed to an unsuitable mismatch or excess reflected power. Treat supplied PDFs and videos in their original languages as source materials whose relevance, revision, and suitability must be confirmed; their presence does not mean they have been translated or validated for a particular design.
